JOB SUMMARY
Colorado PERA is looking for a versatile and dedicated professional to join our Investment Systems team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and managing a set of best-of-breed applications, which are the backbone of PERA's critical investment management functions including analysis, trading, accounting, reconciliation, and reporting. These applications manage complex, time-sensitive data, and we use industry-leading automation and data warehousing tools to orchestrate data flows and synchronization between them.

Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated, team player with a strong technical aptitude and a desire to learn.  We are looking for a professional with great communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to interact with a variety of people.    

Core Responsibilities include:

  • Orchestrate data flows between systems using SQL, shell scripts, APIs, etc.
  • Support deployment for new and existing services and features working with different groups to analyze data, processes, and business requirements
  • Maintain and update applications and underlying infrastructure
  • Provide tier 2 support for investments systems
  • Problem management and resolution

QUALIFICATIONS & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related; two years of experience in related Information Technology profession; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with relational databases in an Oracle or SQL Server environment
  • Ability to learn and understand existing data structures and relationships
  • Experience using scripting technologies such as PowerShell, PERL, or VBScript
  • Knowledge of application and operating systems security concepts and best practices
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Experience administering applications for investments including trade order management, portfolio management, compliance, or total fund aggregation with a data warehouse is desired but not required
  • Knowledge of investment management processes and data for various asset classes is desired but not required

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Standard office environment with frequent computer use
  • Required regular rotation of on-call assistance outside of normal business hours
  • Opportunity to work a flexible 9/80 schedule (80 hours in a two week period worked over nine days with one day off every other week)
